Description |
"Disir" is a five-movement chamber work based on the Norse Poetic Edda for three female voices (SSA), folk or classical harp, cello and (recommended) improvised hand drum percussion including chimes, cymbals, triangle and hand drums. The movements are "Yggdrasil," "Meyer Margs," "Gullveigu," "Sal Ser Hon Standa," and "Solter Sortna." The poems tell the story of the tree of life and the battle between the Norse gods. The piece is approximately 20 minutes in length. |
